Attack on German Synagogue
We strongly condemn the far right extremist terror attacks in Halle, Germany on the Holiest day of the Year in Judaism. As people were gathering in the Synagogue they were targeted by a terror attack similar to the New Zealand Mosque attacks. The terrorist was live streaming his attack. The inspiration of this attack seems to come from the terrorist that attacked worshippers in Christchurch Mosques.
Extremists seek pain and power by targeting innocents. They will not succeed. We stand united and our differences in race, religion and nationality are our strengths.
Whether its Jews praying Synagogues, Muslims in Mosques, Christians in Churches, Hindus or Sikhs in Temples – we will continue to work with one another and protect each other.
We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.
Anti Semitism, Islamophobia, racism and fascism is on the rise in this day and age. Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council calls upon the EU Institutions to act immediately to stop hate speech which leads to such extremism and promote and support projects that promote acceptance of diversity and religious pluralism within the EU.
